The problem is not in disagreeing with the people in power, which will always happen, and that's fine, but the fact that the people in power are undermining their own positions.

Metaphorically, you might disagree with your IT manager's decision to use Windows instead of Unix, but the current administration is basically encouraging the equivalent of getting rid of the computers altogether and just use stone tablets and chisels.
