So it's getting warmer in the Bay Area again and like old-faithful spurts hot liquid into the air like clockwork, my original volume knob began to lose it's grip on its shaft. So I began replacing it with one of Rob's sexy new knobs that he mailed to me.

First I dropped the tiny rubber o-ring into the vast known of some carpeted gash in my car and who know where the hell it ended up. So I made a guess that the o-ring wasn't absolutely necessary for improved functionality and worked Rob's knob onto the shaft.

So now my knob doesn't slip on the shaft!! Woohoo! But it's a little "sticky" as in it seems that on half of a revolution, it rubs a bit on something and adds a bit of resistance to the turn. I'm scared to pull on Rob's knob for fear that it will break my shaft off of the circuit board, so I imagine that I'll just leave it as is and hope that with time, the "stickiness" will lessen.

Is there anything else that I should try?
