I virtually never use the maximize button on any GUI. Having it act slightly oddly isn't an issue. I do have to wonder what the idea behind the Mac's method is, though.

My biggest complaint is the lack of focus (but not raise) follows mouse. And maybe the fact that GUI elements are so large.
