It's clearly one of the things listed in the usual place.

- It's not the cable crimp, you did that.
- It's not the CS4231A chip, the boot log looks fine in that area.

It's not finding the hard disk at all, so it's got to be one of the other things in that list.

If you had a version of Hijack installed, we might be able to get a little more data about why it's not finding the hard disk. Hijack prints out some extra hard-disk debugging information to the serial console at boot time. But my money is on IDE header solder joints.
