My favorite one is that when our internet connection is down, my wife tells me that "the server is unavailable", which is verbatim off of the Firefox error page. Not "none of the servers are available". I don't know what her thought process behind that is, but it always feels to me like she thinks there's one server somewhere that houses the entire internet and it goes down on occasion.
