The Rio remote has a different button layout, and uses a completely different set of IR codes. Instead of using Kenwood codes, it uses codes that are proprietary to the empeg/Rio Car. So it won't interfere with, say, Kenwood head units.

Hmm, interesting. Wonder how I missed this. Have there been any links posted of pictures of the Rio Remote? I recall seeing one, but again it was just a kenwood remote with the RIO (or empeg) logo on it instead of the Kenwood logo.
