Doug-
Is your SHOwagon still in storage?
Well... not really.
As you know it was totaled in February of 2008. It is back on the road as I write this (my wife is visiting in Alaska) after $154.90 worth of repairs, which included a new battery and a very stylish bright blue 2x6 as a faux bumper. (The police made me do that...)
As much as I want to do it, it just makes no sense monetarily to repair the car. It would take $6k--$8k just to repair the body damage, and there is probably another $5K in mechanical repairs (things just wear out after 200,000 miles) and parts for the car are now very difficult to obtain. If I spent $12,000 making the car right, then I'd have a car I could sell and get at least $1,500 for,
if I included all the stereo gear, that is.
So, with great sadness I have relegated the beloved ShoWagon to a slow and ugly death.
