So I opened it up last week, and replaced all of the old electrolytic capacitors. Good as new again now!

I use my phone as an alarm clock as well as the clock radio near the bed, so I'm with you on this one.
The display-clock near the bed is an important aspect of what I'm trying to replace, too.
