If you are the type who sometimes ends up with a bit of grit in your pockets, as I do when working around the garden, then some form of scratch protection for the screen might be a good idea.

Gorilla Glass may be tough, but it's softer than the sand/grit we have around here. I found a $5 glass (not plastic film) screen protector on eBay, and it is proving to be a wonderful top skin for the display.

Invisible, no noticeable interference with touch sensitivity, feels just like the naked screen. Recommended. Just hunt for a thin one with radius edges, and try not to get suckered into paying more than $10 (or equivalent) for "name brand" packaged units.
