Annoyed by his lack of enthusiam on the install I got out the trusty soldering iron last night at about 2300hrs and proceded to dissect the two circuit boards in the Vette's AC/Heater control pannel... I then built an umbilical to connect the two boards and remounted one to the inside firewall and the other (with the controls and bezel) inside the center armrest/glovebox... Presto... a new 1.5 din opening in the dash... I even managed to find a dash kit from my 89vette that adapted the opening to fit a 1 din player perfectly...

Is there anything mechanical left it today's cars!?
