A few days after installing the stalk adapter, the sensor began acting screwy (see General board), so I removed it. Perhaps it was just a coincidence, but I don't take chances.

Instead, I replaced it with a resistor network (photo attached). I'll post the circuit diagram tomorrow (I accidentally left it at home today).

I generally like the one I made for about one pound than the one from Autoleads for 50 quid.

There are a couple of minor niggles with Next and Previous: if they are held, the player just ignores them, rather than FF/RW as the front panel does, and if they are used while menus are up, they only navigate the menu in MP3 mode and not tuner mode. I think this latter is a bug, and I expect to report it, but I'm not sure about the former - I think the genuine Sony has separate buttons for FF/RW.

The volume up/down control works nicely, and that's what I most wanted to have on the steering column.
