I am guessing here (cause the riohome site is non-responsive), but I think those are ambient temperatures and not internal operating temperatures.

You know, I thought the same thing. But then I also thought, well, the temp sensor must be somewhere on the circuit board, and not actually inside the hard drive, so it's probably somewhat valid... Hmmm... You do bring up a good point though. Internal temperatures will definitely be higher than ambient temperatures, and we need to make adjustments accordingly.

The empeg developers put the sensor in there, maybe they have an idea where to set it...?
