This was already discussed to death in another thread a week or two ago.

The answer: Full-row select messes up the abilty to rubberband-select track names, something that certain folks like to do quite often.

The compromise (which will be implemented in the next release) will be to have alternate rows colored differently, like an accountant's spreadsheet.

I know it's not exactly the same thing, but it's the best compromise available at this time.
