number6,

Thanks for your post. I appreciate the time that you took. However, as luck would have it, I am unable to get a connection. Here is what the command prompt is saying...

Destination host unreachable.
Destination host unreachable.

Just to double check, you say that the IP address and the Gateway on the PC should be the same (192.168.1.1)?
The light on the back of my ethernet card and the light on the empeg are on.

I don't know if this matter, but when I double click on "network neighborhood" the only icon that exists is the "entire network" icon. when I double click it, it says "unable to browse the network, the network is not accessable" I did double check the settings you gave me, and all is what you said to input. I do have a question though, in the network configuration tab in windows, there are several components installed. One says TCP/IP Realtek RTL8029 PCI Ethernet NIC and one of the others is just Realtek RTL8029 PCI Ethernet NIC (without the TCP/IP in front). The one that does not have the TCP/IP has a few setting that are available. The ones I have selected are..."enhanced mode (32 bit and 16 bit) NDIC driver, Bindings tab has TCP/IP checked, and the advanced tab has duplex mode with a value of "half deplex" selected. There is an option under this advanced tab to change from duplex mode to "network address" and then input a value. Should any of these be changed?

Also, the only protocols that are installed are TCP/IP. Do any other protocols need to be installed (like IPX/SPX) etc...?

Any more suggestions? Thanks again!
