The new font is more typographically correct for a sans-serif font. Note how in the post you just made, the capital I and lowercase L look the same in your web browser.

If you really want the old fonts, just install an old version of the software (such as 1.03) and grab the font files off of it. Then install the new version and stick the old font files onto the new version. Instructions for doing this are here, the files you want are located in /empeg/lib/fonts/. Enjoy.
