I played around with mine a bit when I first got it and ended up confusing myself for about a day mostly because I was so excited and didn't read through everything. I ended up just putting 2.00 beta 11 on which has some great features, just make sure you upgrade the emplode on your pc as well. I would recomend trying that out for a while to get used to it and maybe adding a little bit more here and there as you read more about whats available.
