Surely if the hardware malfunctions, a call to their support will allow you to transfer the lifetime subscription to a new serial number? Even if the hardware malfunctions from environmental conditions or even your carelessness? I mean, what if you had a flood and the unit was water-damaged? What if you spilled beer on it? What if you sledgehammered it in a rage because you didn't like the adware on it? They've got to have a license transfer procedure in place for situations like that.
