Well, seeing as how i am probably one of the very first consumers that will be able to give you all a review of the MK.II, I figured I better start gearing up. I should have my MK.II here by 10:30AM CST. It is currently 7:26AM CST. I am getting my website ready for the Empeg as we speak. My website will be up at the following address:

http://empeg.welinkit.com

Please watch there as I will be posting all my reactions, comments, pictures, and hopefully some video!

Thanks all,

Zimmy

That's a lot of sequential pictures. You know, it would have been easier just to take a video.

I kid, of course. Those are some great pictures, especially the ones which detail the handle's sculpted design.

Quesion: Does the handle extend to 90 degrees? It's only at 45 degrees in the picture...

Mine goes higher than that, but not to 90 degrees. However, there's 30mm between the handle and the display, compared with 20mm on Mk I. This is plenty, even for me with chunky fingers. The crossbar of the handle is now more or less in the centre of the box, rather than towards the bottom, so it now hangs vertically rather than slanted. Much, much better. The handle feels more robust, too, although it still rubs slightly on the plastic front panel. The handle now has 2 sprung positions, up and down - it doesn't just flop down like Mk I.

Actually, that picture was a little off. The handle does extend higher, however, it does not go to a full 90.

One thing I do wonder about the new handle though is that it is MUCH thinner than the old one, and I wonder if we will run in to Empegs with broken handles on them???

Just a thought .....

Thanks for that report, Steve. It sounds like the new handle takes care of all the compaints users had with the old one.

I think it's about 75 degrees. It was going to be 90 degrees, but that would have involved reworking too much interior metalwork.

Well, the next stage of my review is to say that my Empeg MK.II is broken! Rob, if you get this, please look in the bug section. I can't get anything on the display. All i get is the blinking eye!
