I pissed off my player, and I don't know how...

WHAT I DID:
- (Tried to upload the game: Emptris (Unsuccessful))
- Created my own Animated Logo
- Uploaded through Jempeg (Success)
- Restarted player, and Jempeg

PROBLEM:
- "No Devices Found"
- Continuously display's the "Standby Blink"
- None of the button's do anything, or create "activity" noise
- No noise from player, beside's "power up" humm...

NEEDED INFO?:
MK2 (With upgraded 2.0-.2, from 1.3)
Jempeg v44
Beta13
(Don't know what the hell Hijack is,
beside's what the pussyban's did...)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tried to resolve myself, except I'm a "newbie". I realy want to learn all there is to know, about "The Best Machine Invented".
If someone could help me with this problem I would be truely grateful...

Thankyou all for your time, and concern
- Justin

When you tried to upload Emptris, what steps did you take exactly?

Also, look in the FAQ under "Hypterterminal" and tell us what comes out of the serial port on the player.

Given that this happened after uploading the logo, could it have been too large and overwritten part of the kernel?

Definately post a boot log. If the hard drives are not found (due to a bad or loose cable), it will be fairly obvious.

Worst case, you can always use the upgrade wizard to load a fresh 2.0b13 kernel in to fix any software / kernel issues.

Tony:

Once I unzipped the files, I opened Jempeg and selected "Upgrade Empeg". I tried three files, to be "Upgrade"
- emptris (Status bar flashed, and nothing happened.)
- emptris.c (Status bar flashed, and nothing happened.)
- makefile (Status bar showed progress, that took 2 min.)
(I then began my animation logo, because it seemed that the game wasn't working.)

Which FAQ??
Sorry, I havent mastered the empegian language

Thank you very much for your concern...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Paul:

This was a 22 framed animation... Not very detailed.

(Again, I haven't mastered the empegian language. I was able to access a log at one point, except my Jempeg option's have agrivated the hell out of me...)

NOTE: Could you please direct me toward's a wizard, because this seem's to be beyond me...

Thank's for your help already, I realy appreciate it

I think this is what Tony was referring to - Hyperterminal

Installing applications like emptris isn't as simple as that at the moment. My guess is that you overwrote the 2.0b13 kernel image with the emptris binary/source/makefile. That program is not a working kernel, so the player is now stuck in the bootloader.

You can get out of this by reinstalling the original 2.0b13 image.

BZZZZT, that's the problem. You've hosed the player probably.

The only file that can be an upgrade file is one with the file extension of ".upgrade" and instructions on their use can be found here.

Please get the appropriate upgrade file (in your case probably car2 developer) and do this:

- Unplug the power from the player.
- Start the upgrade by double clicking on it.
- When it prompts you to apply the power, do so.

Alright, thankyou guy's very much...

I thought Jempeg's upgrade option would configure that, and filter out incorrect format's.
That still leaves me scratching my head about getting tetris to work... Im guessing you have to "write", or program that to work, manually.

I truely appreciate all this help...

The tetris thing is tricky. We don't yet have a simple way to to just hit "add this game to the player". You need to fiddle with Linux a bit to get that to work.
