Is anyone else having trouble with freedb lookups on EAC at the mo? I've been trying over the last couple of days on both my main desktop machine and my laptop and get all sorts of suprious errors.

I've had this for a while, say about two months now. Every time I try the FreeDb service EAC just locks up. Upgrading to the latest version didn't do much good since I WAS already using it (dating from may '02 I believe).
I wasn't able to solve the problem, so went back to the old fashioned way and type the titles in myself. Annoying, to say the least...

Well at least it's not just me! Last time I had this problem there was a new version of EAC available, the upgrade solved the problem. This time there's no new version of EAC.

I suppose freedb must have moved the goalposts again!

I had problems with EAC (0.9b4)/FreeDB the other day too, seemingly EAC just couldn't connect (can't recall the http error message now). I managed to 'fix' the problem at my firewall by unticking the Transparent Proxy option for my web proxy.

My guess is they've changed something on the FreeDB end.
