Even a Mk1 shouldn't thump like that if it's properly wired. Can you describe the way things are wired-up in more detail? Where is the amp getting its power, and where is the amp-remote wire connection?

Now i can tell you the following:

ampliefers are wired as usual. plus over 100A directly from car battery, remote to empeg-remote-wire. empeg plus is now over a switch to plus (not ignition plus).
turning empeg off with the switch or even pressing and holding the top button produces a thump..

the problem i dont have with other radios, i had a blaupunkt, a panasonic and a kenwood installed before, there was no problem.
