...but whenever I look at "Who's Online" he is always on "Viewing search results", so it must be true, he only ever reads the board by search for "visual"...

I think 'visual' has only been mentioned in one of the posts I have replied to today.

I usually just minimise the page with my search in, and refresh when I bring it back up - I don't spend all day scanning through search results, honest. Or maybe that's why Pearl had a cardboard UI mockup in the photos, because I've been too busy on the board!

I love that scene in Top Secret! when they are in a field, about to storm the villian's lair and Nick Rivers (the "hero") says "Forgive the crudity of this model...". Then the camera zooms out to show a perfectly detailed model of the castle and it's grounds laid out at his feet...

Or, of course, the classic Monty Python bit - done in Lego.

Speaking of Lego, My wife and I took our 2 year old son to Legoland when we were in the UK for Christmas, and were *hugely* impressed.

We spent about 4 hours there, and only got around 1/3 - 1/2 the park. Admittedly, we pretty much covered the more important elements from a 2 year old's perspective, but could have easily spent another 4 hours.

Miniland is amazing - that's the area where they've re-created many of Europe's landmark buildings in Lego. There's a lot of animated models, including buses, trains, boats, and even an interactive dragstrip where you can test your reactions against someone else, complete with the electronic timing board!

To anyone in the UK, or visiting the UK, who is wondering whether Legoland is worth a visit, then I'd thoroughly recommend it. (It's near Windsor.)

I'll second that, Legoland Windsor is a wonderfully place. I'm told kids like it too...

That is one of the funniest things I have ever seen! (Having collected many Lego products since a child)

I went to Legoland in Denmark about 10 years ago. That was an incredible place. Of course, they had every landmark in Europe modelled in legos, which was absolutely stunning. But, from a 12 year-old's perspective, they also had the complete Town, Castle, and Space (and whatever else they had at the time) sets on display, with everything posed just right. You could look at them for hours and still see new things.

They also had a massive room with millions of legos available to build anything you wanted and another room where you could build and program lego robots.

It was the coolest thing I had seen at that time in my life.

That reminds me. There is a trick that I think Legoland Windsor has missed.

They have an area where the kids can make Lego models from big bins of bricks. That's great, but the kids can't then take the models away with them.

What they should do is let the kids make the models and the sell them to them based on the weight of the Lego used.

Interesting idea, but it'd end up being abused by people making strange models consisting of the more expensive parts.

That's alright you would just charge a premium over the normal costs for bog standard Lego prices for normal bricks. Let's face it, they could sell it at a tenth of the normal price and still make a profit. How much money can making a Lego brick cost !

Yes, that would be cool, I know I'd definitely be going to Legoland if they did that!!!
