I've built the tuner but when I fire my empeg up, the light on the tuner goes on but it flickers 'Radio Not Found' and continues, I can't get a startup log because my serial cable won't fit in the back of the sled I'm using. Help!!!

There's nothing obvious amiss, I'm using beta13 and have hijack as well.

Does it try for the tuner in AC mode? Did you try forcing DC?

First thing is to go back with a MultiMeter and double check every solder joint on the board i'd imagine.

Also check the tuner's contacts at the sled plug.

I've forced it to DC, I'll just have to re-sweat all the joints.

Right had a good look at the board, a couple of joints re-done, but still no joy. Are there any diagnostic tests I can do, managed to get a serial connecter in,

Crossed over wire on the plug (doh!).

BTW, do you need a good signal to get RDS going?

I've gotten errors in RDS when I was in a weak signal area, apparent missed bits. I'm guessing it uses some weak form of checksumming. I assume a really weak signal simply wouldn't decode.

My G/F's Sony is quite good at picking up RDS, the empeg seems a little picky.
