I'm trying to get the Palantir program up and going. BUt I cannot FTP to my player. I have it connected to a router and the address comes from the router. It will not connect by dhcp or ftp. The assigned IP address of the player comes from the Router and when I type the numbers in, it's not getting to the player. I've tried WS FTP, Smart FTP and Cute FTP and all do the same thing. I can connect normally through hyperterminal, but haven't a clue as to how to upload files from there. I just need to get the empire applications installed as I've got the Palantir already on my palm... Any ideas? I know it's something simple... but I'm at the end of my rope. BTW, I have Hijack 320 installed and I've tried to also connect via http and same problem.

You can send files to your player with HyperTerminal. Click in the "Transfer" menu, then click "Send File", Then just browse to the file you want to upload to your empeg, and click "Send"

Don't forgot to mount your drives Read/Write before you try and transfer a file. "rw" will do with from the empeg command prompt.

If by chance your empeg is in DC power mode. FTP and HTTP won't work. You can check this by going into the hijack menu, and clicking force ac/dc power mode. if your using the home power cord, and that screens shows DC power mode, switch it to AC and try the FTP and HTTP again.

And of course, you can enable servers while in DC mode:
