I'm sorry, "didn't get on that game"? What does that mean?
I never tried the Sam and Max games. I wonder if any will work on Win2K...

Loren is an animator at LucasArts. He wanted to work on that project (who wouldn't?).

That's sweet. I know they are coming out with a new Full Throttle game too. Loren, any news on a Maniac Mansion/Day Of The Tentacle game to complete the sweep? I love the fat heavy metal dude.

"Maybe I could use it in my band, maybe bite off its head or something..."

Another Monkey Island or Grim Fandango wouldn't hurt either.
I'm sure that whatever Loren knows, he's not allowed to tell.

Another Monkey Island or Grim Fandango wouldn't hurt either. I never played Grim Fandango. I should.
Regarding the Monkey Island games: They were great, getting better each time, right up until that last one. That last one was a bit of a let-down. If I recall correctly, it's because it was done by a different writing team than all the others.

Grim Fandango is a hot topic. It's been brought up so many times... but it's such an iconic thing that i doubt highly it'll ever see a sequel. but never say never eh? Definitely play it if you haven't.
No new Day of the Tentacle on the horizon either.
This is what i'm working on now:

Dude. Lucas Arts' website is blocked by my corporate proxy. WTF???
You guys don't have a porn section of your web site do you???
Sigh. I hate this company sometimes.

While it was different, I still got my share of belly laughs out of the last one. I'm certainly not sorry I purchased it.

Neither am I... I played all the way through it and enjoyed it. Just not nearly as much as the prior ones. There was something about it that just wasn't as satisfying as the prior ones. even the puzzles didn't seem as clever, to me.

Yeah, I know that feeling, you usually have to show absolutely no interest in a project before they let you on it. You'd think they'd welcome someone with a vested interest on the team. I've given up trying to figure management out.

I agree on the Monkey Island comments ... Grim Fandango was great ... I can check and see if I still have my copy and send it to you if you want (have to check my Box Of Retired Box (TM)).

So have you seen/played Sam & Max 2 at all or do they keep the teams pretty separate?

I've seen the models and such... but it's way too early on in the project... I don't even think it's playable yet. I still say they should have toon shaded it. It looks too "early 3d" to me.

This is what i'm working on now
I completly missed the fact that this had finally been announced. Having some ties to the Unreal engine, this might have gotten me into the Lucasarts booth at E3, but I was assuming the game was still in stealth mode.
Oh well. I did get to see a private demo of Unreal Tournament 2004, and play around with the other Atari games in their closed off booth.

I was under the impression that Sam & Max was being developed externally by Infinite Machine?
Oops... a quick bit of research shows Infinite Machine was finite? So I take it this got sucked back into internal development? (Internal Machine?)

Half Life 2, easially game of the show.
600 meg Quicktime high quality camcorder capture.
It's well worth the download queue. Sweet Zombie Jesus.
Okay, given the fact that I can't get more than half of that video to play at a decent framerate, I'm guessing that I'm going to need to upgrade my machine to play the game, huh?

Animator at Lucas? Wow!
Now, I grew up with Lucas' Games (like many others here, I guess), and I just wanted to say how much I appreciate Lucasarts.
BTW, what's the story with Zak 2? There was a third party zak2 project, but I've been hoping Lucas decided to work on something like that as well. I miss so much my favorite Alien Mindbenders dressed up like Elvis...
