Please don't say that word... it makes us skittish.

It's like saying "bomb" in an airport.

Eek! Didn't think about the import the word might have (I assume you are talking about "steal").. Sorry about that.

Just in case anyone wondered, no, the unit is not stolen.

You might want to include the unit's serial number in the auction to help allay fears. Although having the original shipping box like you show in the photo does help.

The serial on the box says: "030102888".

There's another number on the box that says "90260233-002".

The first number is attached to the bottom of the Empeg as well.

This will be added to the auction shortly, thanks for the advice!

A sidenote: This unit was bought back when the Empeg store was going out of business.

It's almost impossible to read any LCD I've used in a car in direct daylight, whereas a VFD with AR coating seems to work much better.

The clock in my current car is a backlit inverse LCD and it's eminently readable. By ``inverse LCD'', I mean that it's normally black and becomes transparent when activated. But that only allows one-bit color.

I wonder if there are LCDs that can rotate polarity variable amounts in order to make different shades of gray.
