I've set up a webcam to view the back garden area where we'll be holding the BBQ. You'll be able to tune in and watch the happeninigs live from 19:00 Central European Time, Saturday 5th July.
Follow this to get to the webcam. You can enlarge the picture to suit. Have fun!
Watch and behold the nefarious goings on as we shoot chicken bones at ballons with our cannons! Watch Patrick hold the audience spellbound with his Astonishing Tales! Watch us all drink beer and get riotously drunk over ribs, wings, burgers and other great grub! Mouthwatering!
Be there or be square!

Would be good, but I have no machine with Firewire that could act as a camera server. We'd need to create a second site, but that is pretty easy to do. Depends on your motivation!

What they really need is a big LED matrix display so we can type in messages....
edit: I didn't realise they are one hour ahead of the UK - yeah, it should be up now?!!

I didn't think you guys drank *cold* beer over there? Sheesh. Lager is served cold, ale is served at room temperature. And ale is almost exclusively a British thing -- the beer in Amersfoort, Holland will all be lager.
They seem to be having a good time, though...

Nope. BSOD on that monitor for me, too. Ah, well. I'll just have to pretend that I have a life, and go do something besides sit here and watch a bunch of people have a BBQ on the other side of the world.

Wow, that's a pretty classic picture right there. Patrick in the bottom right and I recognize Robricc near the middle. Who else is in there?

Nah, that's Rodger. Rob Voisey is next to him (how could you miss him?!) and Hugo and Claire are in the middle at the top of the picture.
Oh yeah, and that is the left hand sleeve of my T-shirt on the right (how do I know? I was cooking on the BBQ - the guys there were queueing up for food! :-) )

Roger L - bottom left, looking at camera.
Patrick A (aka God) - bottom right, looking at camera.
Derek Ward - far right (white tee shirt sleeve) - cooking.
Tim Linke (303) - carrot salad chef extraordinaire, bottom centre.
Rob Riccardelli - white tee and black BB cap.
John McDowell - top centre/yellow tee.
Hugo and Clare - top right.
Unidentified - black shirt, talking to Clare and Hugo.
Rob Voisey (the Grand Pooh Bah) - left middle, pointing up at camera.
Unidentified - standing behind Rob
Beer machine - hiding under discarded plate on table, under parasol.
John & Rob are safely on their way home: Erin and Alvin are off to Amsterdam to see the red light district (on Erin's insistence, for goodness' sake! What do they teach young ladies in the States these days!). Tony, Jenny and Rachel left safely on tour on Germany, and Mark went blasting off with Thomas for his little travelling tour around Europe.
Phew! Now I can get some sleep!

and Mark went blasting off with Thomas for his little travelling tour around Europe.
Yeah, we made it in 6 hours, although i got very tired the last 100 km. (including a little Burger King-Stop)
Could have been faster, we drove slowly, Mark enjoying the landscape.
Also my tires do allow only 210 km/h.
Ohh, the crossfading is veeery cooool. I would kick my ass if i had not been to Amersfoort.
cheers, Thomas

Tim Linke (303) - carrot salad chef extraordinaire, bottom centre.
Cannot see it exactly, but i think it's me, not Tim.
I have worn a orange Tee-Shirt unter the black jacket and it semms to be my glasses above robriccs arm. I can remember the scene waiting for a steak with Rob V. pointing to the camera. We turned around and had a "cheers" to the world....
Anyway, Tim's carrot salad was very delicious.
cheers, Thomas

It was already there 4 months or something, I would have waited a few more days.

I think it has very much to do with the liabilities of the alpha release and the potential for it to do very nasty things. We did receive a very stern RobV-lecture on the matter. But I think I'd be allowed to recap this knowledge that has more or less already been leaked, so that you won't die of curiosity.
3 or 4 goooberheads with a bit of wine in them seem to have already linked the most practical feature of the release (IMHO), at least to those who use random frequently.
Rob also mentioned before the meet that the most significant accomplishment was the architectural changes to get the car player on the main release trunk so that features developed for other players will work on the car player as well.

Not to mention all the other stuff that made it into the alpha at the last minute. Like the new random shutdown feature. Very cool.
/me ducking....can't wait to get home to load it up!

Bah, I've had that one on windows for years! Yeah, but they did it on Linux . . . (apparently, since I don't have the alpha version)
