Looks more like you just put it in a dark place . Got a picture in any better light?

Yeah that's much betterer

Does spray unit = spray can? Just the cheapo type ones from the hardware store?

yep it's a spray can! It' really funny, I was making yesterday some pics from my fathers workroom...And if you look on the right lower corner, then you will see the spray can...

It's really a big disorder in my fathers workroom....I was counting about 25 machine tools...

Hi,

Heh! - What a hobby room! - Looks allmost as messy as me and my fathers hobbyroom..

I've seriously considered buying a box from Mark and have it painted at an autoshop. I'd imagine that it would look good in some fancy changing color that has become popular when respraying styled cars.

Tada,
Kaare

I believe the paint the you are refering to is a color shifting paint that has been used on Mustangs in the past. It's manufactured by a variety of manufacturer's under different names including: BASF's line of Extreme Color paints, Dupont's ChromaLusion paints, KameleonKolors by House of Kolor, PPG's Harlequin, and Dupli-Color's Mirage line of paints.

Unfortunately it's not cheap paint. You may want to consider a laminate or veneer instead. I had mine covered at a cabinet shop for about $30US. Most places will have a variety of colors and textures including wood, leather, stone or mirrored depending on the size of the shop.

If you go this route, ask Mark NOT to round the edges on the dock. Square edges will make the laminating much easier.

I sprayed mine too ... in quick drying black car paint. Looks OK. You need to protect for overspray, and be careful not to put too much on as it runs. Mine has some run marks but they are on the bottom.

On a positive note, the empeg gets 10 times more use now, as my journey times had reduced significantly, so a big thumbs up to Mr Lord. It worked out quite expensive by the time the dock was shipped to the UK, but it makes an expensive Empeg much more useable.

Dock numbers 144 and 145 are on the way to my house right now!!! I imagine the empeg will get more use than usual as well, one dock for work, one for home...

Still working on a piano black dock. I got a couple coats of primer applied after filling with autobody filler. I will keep at it as time allows and post the results. Right now it's a home dock in white (primer).
