Home Docking Stations: clearing the backlog

I expect to mail out about 30 docking stations by the end of this week, provided that sufficient people can be found to pay for them!
There is a current queue size of 55 docks on order, 11 of which have already been paid for (waiting for USA-approved shipping boxes -- hopefully Tuesday), and so I have now sent out payment requests for the next 20 docks on the list.
Two factors will shortly come into play:
(1) I will run out of docking connectors (again!) somewhere around number 47 or so of the 55 on order. When this happens, production will pause until September or so, because..
(2) I am about to become insanely busy again. My month of August is owned by a client: lock, dock, and barrel, culminating with a visit to Austin TX in the final week of August. Nothing new will happen with docks during that time.
So, if you want a dock from the remaining stock, check your queue-position by visiting http://rtr.ca/docks/ -- don't rely 100% on my emails to you having gotten through your organisation's various layers of spam filters! If your queue entry says " notified", then that means I am waiting for payment from you! So email me, and I'll resend your payment notice with amounts/instructions etc..
Thanks all!

How precise is that number? (reason for asking is that I'm #46 )

I received my notice and sent payment out today. I tried to send you an email, too, but the webmail doesn't seem to be working. I'm looking forward to its arrival.

Got your payment, thanks. Paypal emails me when you pay, so there's no real need for a second one.

You are probably safe enough at #46, because in all likelihood, one or three people ahead of you may not claim their docks ("lost job" seems to be the usual excuse).
Cheers!

I never dod say thanks after receiving my dock... so thanks.
It works great! I haven't had time to fiddle with the ethernet or any other fun parts. I wasn't even sure the fan worked, it was so quiet...

Julf,
You should wait for instructions from me. You're high enough on the list I think I'll send them to you right now -- I've got lots of shipping boxes for overseas!

The dock is on its way now. You queue jumper, you!
(a temporary benefit of being a non-USA recipient.. still waiting for the USA-approved cardboard boxes to arrive here from Calgary).

Hmm... I can sort of... maybe... understand the US having to have a different voltage, a different TV standard, a different measurement system... But different cardboard boxes?

Hurray! The USA-approved shipping boxes (finally) arrived today, only about 10 days later than expected, but we're not complaining at this point.
Many of the queued up docks on hand are going into the mail today, and the 20 or so others currently being assembled will ship when they're ready, likely within the next week or less.
Oddly enough, we're waiting for something else now.. ran out of the laminate spacer strips that go underneath the player -- that material has been on order for a couple of days now, and should be here Thursday or Friday.
Cheers

Okay, the new sheet of (extra thick) laminate arrived today, and I've cut out sufficient sets of "skids" from it to allow production to continue again.
We have about 20 docks being assembled right now, which will be available for shipment on Monday. Only eleven of those have been paid for so far; the others are as yet unclaimed.
I am still waiting for responses from eleven other individuals from whom payment has been requested. So please check your queue positions, and if you see the word notified in your queue entry, then that means I am waiting for a response from you! If it shows notified but you didn't get/see my email, then tell me, and I'll resend it.
All in all, it's rather exciting here to see our (SWMBO's and mine) work from the past few months finally getting sent out en masse to good homes! Kinda like Christmas in many ways.
Cheers

15 more docks in the mail

Okay, 15 more docks went into the mail today, so the remaining queue positions just took a bit of a jump forward.
That's it for the moment, at least until I get more responses to the payment requests. We have another 15 or so docks in the late stages of assembly, which can be shipped out within a day or two of payment.
I'll keep sending a couple more payment requests out each day, but there's a danger now of everyone replying all at once, and us not having enough docks to go around.. I suppose that's better than the current situation though, docks just sitting here..
Cheers

Got mine today - was surprised at how quickly it got here, Canada seems to be *much* quicker than US. Or maybe Mark has connections with the Dutch customs
Anyway, another big Thank You, Mark - the quality of workmanship is just amazing!

I think it was the green camo paint job on it that allowed it to sneek through.. cleverly applied so that it fades away in sunlight afterwards.

Hi Folks,
I'm one of the lucky easterners who don't get electricity back on until late Sunday (maybe..). So my webserver is down, and any access or email to rtr.ca will not function until power returns. Except for brief periods like right now when I have the UPS powered up to check mail or whatever.
Cheers
