Well, I've spent the better part of 2 days trying to figure out my issues, and I have been unsucessful. My empeg seems to play fine, but I can not upload new songs to it without it getting all screwed up. I have checked for hardware problems because I have been having the "checking integrity" issue, I have also tried to check the disks by hand through hyperterminal. I have downgraded to v1.03 and back to v2.00 and performed syncs with both. Sometimes the sync will take a normal amount of time and sometimes it will "rebuild database" all day, among other errors.
Here is the latest output of hyperterminal: (it's really long and it seems like there are tons of errors)

Like I said, I've tried to do this myself, for fear that it's an issue that has happened to people many times before, but for whatever reason, I can't make it happen.
Most recently, after Emplode had performed a sucessful sync, I tried to upload some tunes and got this error:
0xC004101E is "Read-only file system" (Player error)
as well as this one:
0x8004003E is "Unknown error" (Emplode error)
thanks for the help.
