I'm getting in to AMS around noon time on Thurs.

Thursday evening pre-meet drinks/dinner in AMS?

I'm in!

Let me know where you want to meet-up. I will have a car and should have maps for my StreetPilot III. I will PM my cell number to you guys if you want it.

Thursday evening pre-meet drinks/dinner in AMS?

I'll probably arrive around 6pm - depending on queues on the autobahn...

Maybe an exchange of phone numbers so stragglers can join up?

Cool.

Hey Rob, have you figured out where you're staying around AMS on Thursday? We could split a room (or not, no biggie), and perhaps I might hitch a lift with you over to Amersfoort on Friday?

Cheers

I assumed I would just head to Amersfoort Thursday night. You can definitely hitch a ride either way.

Do realize that parking in Amsterdam is... well... non-trivial. I *might* have space for one or two vehicles in the garage (otherwise known as the Julfcave).

I think I announced earlier that I gave the guest room available, and if needed, I can definitely accommodate a couple of people in the video room/library. So far neither have been claimed.

Whatever. I can also dump the car in Amersfoort and then take public transit into Amsterdam. Having a car was good last year for driving around and speeding back to the airport, so I got one again this year.

Naturally, I rented a tiny car (by US standards) so the Julfcave should work also. At the moment I think it's most likely I will sleep in Amersfoort on Thursday.

I'm open for a meal in either Amsterdam or Amersfoort on the Thursday. If Rob is going to Amersfoort on the Thursday, maybe we could share a car (or public transport) if it's Amsterdam...

Thanks!

Are we talking coffee or are we talking booze? I took this pic last year of a couple of us enjoying some coffee.

Of course, a coffee shop is one of the few places in Holland where you can'* necessarily get any coffee...

Maybe I should stay in AMS if I am enjoying too much coffee that night. But, we'll see. There is tons of time to see what's going on.

I'm not a big coffee-head, and I also don't drink too much. I still think I'll be in Amersfoort for the night, but I'm not saying no to your offer yet...

Well, at long last I've weeded and sorted much of the photo collection from last summer, and can now present:

Mark's EuroTour 2003.

This is the story of one Canuck's first venture to the UK and Europe, with Excellent hosts along the way. Many thanks to Toby, Hugo, RobV, RobS, Thomas, Melkon, and Alvin!

Only a few photos are captioned, but I may never finish that task, so here they are.

Cheers

Looking at those pictures makes me really wish I could justify just charging the whole trip and going. Maybe next year I'll have a travel companion and be able to afford to go........... <sigh>
