I just wanted to say that I had Stu install the back lit LED's and he did a great job. You really have to see it in person to appreciate what it look like!

If you're thinking of getting them done and not sure about spending the money, I can tell you it was worth every dollar.

I showed it to my co-woker (who has a Mk2a) and he's all ready to send his in "after seeing it."

Nice work!!

I second that! Stu installed his light kit and replaced the rotary encoder in my MK2a.

Top notch!

Thanks Stu

What was the total damage (in U.S. dollars) for the LED kit and the install???

Is it the blue one??

If you are still in the NJ area, I would like to check it out sometime...

The kit cost $130 total for the lights, PCB, install, and return shipping. It also cost me like $20 to ship it (2 day air with $1000 insurance; the UPS guy looked at me like I was insane).

But it's totally worth it. Very clean install and those little lights are BRIGHT. (assuming the "back light kit" in the subject is refering to the button lighting, that is).

Well, $45 for the kit itself, $65 for the install work (because hey, that seems like hard work), and $20 for the return shipping.

::shrugs:: Considering how much I've already put into my empeg, an extra $130 isn't going to hurt. ::looks over at the ram upgrade thread:: Peanuts compared to what else COULD be put into it.
