I have a lot of classical tracks, ID3v2 tagged with composer, orchestra, etc. The hardcoded limits to one artist just doesn't cut it. The server data base needs to be user configurable to sort by whatever ID3v2 tags the user wants.

As a matter of fact, I've been implementing this. I have a semi-working prototype Win2000 server (doesn't handle actually booting the player, I use the stock server to boot the receiver then shut down the stock server). It stores track info in a Jet database, and servers up a hierarchy of stuff as playlists. Under "playlists", I have "artist", "composer", "album", etc.. I can also build multi-level playlists, so I have a playlist named "artist->album" which contains playlists containing the individual albums for the artist in question.
