Hi,

Well, it has been ages since I posted and great to see that the empeg community is still going strong.

Anyone tried using a CompactFlash to IDE adaptor with the Empeg? You can get ones with the same form factor as a 2.5" harddisk and are driverless apparently.

I might give this a go in the next couple of months. Why? I want the ability to record from aux-in while on the move. I'll have to sacrifice one of my harddisks. Shame there isn't a second IDE interface - then I could keep both harddisks and mount the flash under the main board.

p.s. Yes, I know I should upgrade. Just need a damn good excuse

A while ago someone installed a CF->IDE adapter in their Empeg, as well as a custom top to the Empeg to allow the card to be swapped out. The reasoning was to store pictures taken from a digital camera.

I'll try to find the link sometime today and post it here.

Edit: Nevermind, got beat to it :-)

Thanks for the pointers guys. Good to know my efforts won't be in vain, even though that means I won't be the first.
