Hmph. I think it's a dying disk or some other disk related hardware problem.

I got about 75% of the way through a 2-gig upload, then the upload stalled and started timing out on each song. Opening the serial port, I see "hda: Lost Interrupt" every few seconds.

Grr.

I'll open the player and look for obvious problems, then shop for a new disk drive.

Lost Interrupt messages are normally due to a bad IDE header and/or cable.

Yeah, I'm gonna open the player in a few minutes and check for that stuff. Sigh. Thought I was past all that, having already been through it and solved it.
