Strange though, the one single I've been hearing so much on the radio lately sounds to me like he's trying too hard to recapture 1982...guess I'll have to hear the whole album to pass final judgement however

I'm not sure what single is out on the radio now, but on a couple songs, that's certainly the case. On others, the riffs are a lot more blistering and ballsy than any of his more polished 80s punk. And, yeah, I think the fact that it dips back into the past is a good thing, because I haven't heard any new punk acts worth listening to in a long, long time.

All music is derivative to some extent, so if you're going to borrow from the past, you might as well make it rock.

Don't feel bad...I am still stuck on 'groovy', 'far out', and 'outta sight'....These two newbies at work in a meeting last week were laughing and jivin me about it...then the boss called them into his office for the usual welcome to the department speech....I'm the boss...it was 'far out' to see these guys shrink and 'groovy' to watch everyone laughing at them when they relazied I was their new manager, and it was 'outta sight' watching them almost run over each other trying to get out of my office!

I bought the new Billy Idol CD as well, and I would definitely say it kicks major ass. Best CD from Billy in a very long time, great songs too....It's in my rotation, and likely to stay there for awhile...All good...
