Beeps come out the standard audio jacks, there is no internal speaker.

I think we've covered all the possible silly simple settings it could be. I think you're sending your player to Stu.

OK, I just realized that when I plug in my speakers, I hear a pop noise over them. Sooo this tells me that there is power to the speakers?

I found the remote and I pushed "hush" I assume that is mute. It went on and off as expected.
I went into configure player and clicked on the mute tab. My choices were never (which was on) and +12v and 0v. I tried +12v and still no sound. I will try 0v next

Just leave it set to never. The setting is for the phone mute line in the car harness.

Right, he's deliberately testing the car phone mute line to see if it's the reason he's getting no sound.

If it is still muting even it is it set to never then it means something is broken so he still needs to send it to Stu.

OK, kind of bad news. I was talking to my son and he said that he was playing it over the stereo in the garage and it just quit right in the middle of a song. I guess that kind of eliminates the settings thing. Sooo you guys have mentoned STU several times, maybe I should send it to him? Please detail the procedure for this and thanx again for all your input, time and patience.

Sincerely,
Riogolf

Have you turned the volume up in AC mode? Otherwise it's -infinity (off).
