i have the mkII and im using v3alpha11and the latest hijack 439

The empeg loads sucessfully but once it gets to playing a song. It is stuck on the last song I play and wont move from there.
I did a ram test and all was ok and I rebuilt the database but it did nothing. This started when i tried to sync for empeg via network cable
only thing i can do on the empeg is hold down the rotary button to get the hijack features and use those. Cant play any music it wont move from that perticular song please help.

Well, hdc4 is the second hard drive's music partition. If you only have one drive, it means nothing. If you have two hard drives, I would recommend a power off, capture the next complete boot log and post it here. I suspect it was just a one time artifact of stopping the player while booting. If not and you still have trouble, you may have to rebuild the databases by hand and manually check your disk drives.

I'm getting a similar problem, nothing works apart from the hijack menu. My computer doesn't for some reason have hyperterminal on it either so am using Tera Term. Working with V3A11 developer version.

Check this for a log.. problem is, none of the commands in the faq have any affect at all. Any ideas anyone?

Looks like I was a little premature. This is from the bottom...

From that shell prompt, try "player -i", then after the player application loads with a blank playlist, type "q" to quit, "exit" to exit back to the player and reboot. Better???

That's temporarily solved the problem, but you now need to remove the offending track or else your player will crash again the next time it tries to play it. I don't know if the track was the one in your log above, or if it was one that was being precached future playback.

I agree with Tony. Make sure you verify that the track is not damaged - you may want to remove it or replace it. Still, I am glad it is working for your trip. And, for more detail, check out the FAQ entry...

The track hasn't casued the problem since, but I will replace it when I get the chance.

That faq entry would have saved me a good few hours. I will work on my search skills for the future.
