A number of people have asked that the weekend be moved from it's (now "traditional") time in July to another date.

Those of you who have a preference, could you answer this post separately with a specific date. Before posting, check other individual answers to see if someone has already posted the same date: if so, add a reply to their posting. In this way, I can see the proposed dates at the bottom of the replies, and a rough idea of the number of others who would prefer the same date.

So come on guys and gals, check your diaries and post away!

Actually, I'll be in London from July 6th till about July 18th. So if the date is between those I'd be extremely happy. Although my dates aren't solid yet, I'll be purchasing the tickets within the next week or so. I'd love to kill two birds with 1 stone (airfare) if possible.

The usual date is around July 4th right?

Anything but June 11th - I've missed the British GP too many times for the empeg meet. Now the GP itself has moved I know it's sod's law you'll move the meet to coincide!

Airfares from over here generally triple in cost for July/August.

I keep telling myself that I'll get to a meet one of these days, but the 'traditional' weekend in July always seems to clash with another 'traditional' part of July in these here parts

Later in July might suit me better, round the 21st-23rd or 28th-30th. Just my tuppence worth.

Yup - June is better for me too...July is likely to get very busy with our annual conference, sailing competition...and something else which is likely to come up!

Anything except July 21-23 is doable, July 14-16 would be ideal.

Anytime in June, except the last few days, would suit me just fine.

Edit: And except the first weekend in June... But August would do fine too...

Can't do June or the first weekend in July. And you can't do the 17th of June, either Rob...

What with all of these refusals, it looks like we'll have to get together in Smarch.

Sometime in June may be better for me too. Maybe airfare will be cheaper. And maybe the tourist spots will be less crowded? Questions to help choose a date in an Off Topic thread.

Although I'm there at pretty much whichever date we decide, I will put a vote in for it to be before July 15th - so my mate Jon can come along.

Embedded Linux Guy amongst other things, I'm sure he'll have a great time. Plus, it would be nice to have a passenger

No! No! Anything but that date. That's the North Sea Jazz weekend.

Yes, before that date, not at that date. That's the North Sea Jazz weekend.

Poll? I hope you guys think this is a good idea, it should surely be easier to pick a weekend this way. People seem to have a lot of variables to deal with.

Are the date ranges ok with everyone?

Is it supposed to be a Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday thing? I have put down the date of the actual weekend.

In any case, please vote carefully and only once!
I will be able to make it to the Empeg meet, if it was on one of the following weekends:
Multiple choices allowed (126 total votes)
3-4 June - 10 (8%)
10-11 June - 12 (10%)
17-18 June - 10 (8%)
24-25 June - 11 (9%)
1-2 July - 8 (06%)
8-9 July - 9 (07%)
15-16 July - 9 (07%)
22-23 July - 9 (07%)
29-30 July - 9 (07%)
5-6 August - 9 (07%)
12-13 August - 10 (8%)
19-20 August - 10 (8%)
26-27 August - 10 (8%)
Voting on this poll ends: 0 seconds ago

Could we have a second poll on *preferred* (not just possible) dates?

That's the idea. I'll collate the dates, work out what I can do, then give you a selection to vote on.

I know this doesn't help, but at the moment I have nothing planned for those weekends.... and now it's in Cambridge there's even less for me to organise.

Maybe we should organise a charabanc and chauffeur now that we don't have to fly anywhere!

Also, my lack of a vote represents my flexibility. The empeg meet is always the first thing on my calendar for the year, so it wins no matter what.

Eh? I didn't realise, sorry - but I haven't yet got anything pinned for a hotel, which makes it difficult for me to pose a weekend yet. I'll work on it and try and let you know.
