Hi, I have ran into a problem when I tried to synch my player today. I am hoping that this is just my lack of knowledge about Linux and the player making itself evident here and it is a simple fix.

Right now when I try to use emplode to connect, it appears to try to finish up the synch and during or shortly after "Waiting for the empeg-car to respond" I get a message saying "The download process failed during stage 4: Error 0xfffffffb"

I have tried several times with the consumer and devoper images being reloaded on the player. A few weeks ago I did manage to get displayserver working on it by following the instructions elsewhere on the BBS. I don't think I have attempted a synch since then, so I'm not sure how that affects matters or if it was something else I did. Ever since my synch attempts today, whenever the player reboots it spends about a minute at "Building the music databases..." and this is also true when I try to connect via Emplode and it attempts to finish up it's synch while 'waiting for empeg-car to respond'.

Here is what I am seeing through Hyperterminal when the player is powered up:

I'm not sure what this means or what to do at this point to fix the problem so any help is appreciated. Thanks,

Eh-oh, sounds like a HDD fault. I suspect it will need bringing in, but I can probably get the music off it onto a new disk for you.

Mail [email protected] and ask them about organising this.
