They are now attacking websites that have song lyrics and guitar tabs on them - calling for "jail time" for people who run them

Well, if operators of amateur lyrics and tablature sites deserve jail time, then complete management of Sony and those British (?) virus vriters who provided them with their terrorist tools should be burned at stake, if we wish to keep things in proportion...

How long before RIAA and similar lowlife goes after those who steal their daily bread by whistling in their bathrooms?

In my experience with most lyrics sites, the people that run them deserve jail time just for all the damn pop-up ads.

Yeah, conspicuously absent from the BBC report was anyone saying "but I don't make any money out of this". Now granted, that's not a defence in law against copyright violation (IMO it should be), but it's such a good moral defence that you'd think someone would mention it if they were in fact not making any money out of it.
