Any suggestions on a DVI/USB KVM that supports 1920x1200? I'm surprised at how much they cost. I was expecting around $100, not $200.

You're probably not going to find anything for around $100 that's worth buying. I'd recommend going with the Gefen.

It won't be cheap. The two features you want (DVI and 1920x1200 support) are expensive even on their own. I've got an Avocent KVM with DVI/USB and that works quite well. Not tried 1920x1200 through it though as I don't have an external monitor capable of displaying that.

Thanks. The Gefen does look like the best choice. Do you have personal experience with it? The price is decent (relatively) and it includes cables. I also like the remote switch button that will reduce the cable clutter on top of my desk.

Interesting, Gefen makes 2 similar KVM's with slightly different features.

This one has an IR remote and all connections are on the back. I'd say it's preferable except for it doesn't mention HDCP compatibility. Althought I don't actually need that right now it would prevent me from ever repurposing this box as a switcher in my home theater.

This one has the output ports on the front and doesn't include an IR remote. I would have to buy the wired remote switch if I didn't want my desk to be full of cables. It claims to have HDCP pass through.

Now that I've typed this out I realize the second one is of no use to me. It's only advantage is HDCP pass through but I would never use it in my home theater because of the lack of IR control. I guess my decision is made.

Edit: Oh, the first one is $100 more. Hmmmmm.......
