The B&B hotel that SWMBO and I are at today has a British Telcom supplied wireless DSL router, which refuses to work with Linux by default. Fine with that other common system, though.

So, being what I am, I sorted it all out and posted the solution for others who might find themselves in the same situation some day. With lots of UK folks on the BBS here, I figure I might as well post a link to it here as well.

You mean you didn't just reverse engineer the firmware upgrade sequence, write a new firmware for the router on the spot, and upload it to the router, fixing it for good? I expected more from you, Mark...
