Cr--! The filesharing, and view of computers in the workgroup is working now. I don't know what it was that fixed it. Could it really have been so simple as my having deleted all of the folders shown in My Network Places on my laptop, then recreating them?

Good to hear it arrived intact!

It probably only was handled as much as most local shipments -- the international mail sorting center is in town, and we have direct air connections to the UK from in town.. so the parcel likely spent much of it's time on your side of the pond!

Hope you liked the repackaging job -- and I hope the VAT guys liked it, too!

Gave up, ran a hardline from the back room to the AP. Filesharing and other stuff seems to work now.
