I'm pretty sure my employer hasn't enabled the '5 second shot of a naked lady in an flv video stream' detector on their firewalls just yet....
That said, I'm sure if someone did invent such a device they'd make a lot of money.

It's not the firewalls and logs that are going to rat you out -- it's the random person walking behind you, or peeking over the cube wall, at the most inopportune time.
That said, those dresses are really cool. There's an article on TechnologyReview.com about how they were done. A little scanty on details, but some more pictures and video.

Those vids were great Loren! A friend that is an ex-paraglider sent me that link... Funny that you know the dude.
Can't believe how nonchalant those guys are when jumping. I did a bunch of bungee jumping in my past, but always went through some mental gymnastics before I took the leap. I guess you get used to it eventually...

I've mentioned JC before here on the board. You all should be listening to this guy. I just love him to death, he's made of teh aw3some. Just saw him last Sunday, performing in Seattle with Paul & Storm, who are also worth listening to. (Paul & Storm were formerly one-half of the isanely awesome DaVinci's Notebook, and their vocal harmonies sound utterly fantastic on Coulton's songs.) JC is such an amazing songwriter and musician, I just want to die because I could never write anything that cool or clever. For the record, the songs "Skullcrusher Mountain" and " Mandelbrot Set" are even better than Code Monkey.

Oh, also, this great song, too, had a video contest: I Feel FantasticGenerally, I like it best when people make original content videos out of Coulton songs. I'm generally left pretty cold by machinima or videos that are just re-edits of anime movies. Oh, also check out his brain-breaking acoustic cover of Sir Mix-a-Lot's Baby Got Back. Who knew that song had a melody or even a chord progression?

I should be more specific, though.
Machinima can be great when it's made as an integral part of an original work. For instance, I remember the ill Clan's "Apartment Huntin'" (one of the earliest machinimas) was absolutely hilarious. But what made it funny was that it was original scripting, acting, and improvising. And it poked fun at the game engine, too ("Hey, nice pool!" "But we're carrying axes.").
Taking someone else's music, and then pressing the "dance" key to get your WoW characters to run their dance loop (which someone *else* keyframe animated, by the way), and calling that an original creation worth posting on YouTube is the thing leaves me cold.

You should check out the rest of Hertzfeld's animations, then. They're pretty messed up. Some of them go on a little too long, though.

Ha, I'd never seen any of his stuff before. Pretty funny! It looks like that Billy's Balloon one has been removed for some reason, but I checked out this one.

Wow- these are great! Perhaps we will be able to relate to that perspective soon. But when?

Greatest Tetris player in the world EVARTetris Grand Master 3, aided by setting initial rotation, piece holding, and showing the next three blocks. Still, playing like that goes beyond instinct. This only seems possible with a lenient piece selection algorithm. You'd never pull this off in The New Tetris for N64. I'll swear that game KNOWS what you're trying to do based on the playing field and the piece you've held. When you're waiting for a piece, it seems to decrease its probability to about 1/30.

I don't see how that level of play happens unless he's not looking down at all, keeping track of the field only by memory of what plays had been made. The last part playing absolutely blind at that speed, sob!

Ok, the video that's now making the rounds called "2 girls, 1 cup" is possibly the most disgusting and horrible thing I've ever seen on line. WARNING, I almost puked. I honestly don't know if I should post this... Ah, what the heck... http://2girls1cup.googlepages.com/2girls1cupvideo- Jon
