Hi everyone. Like me, I am sure that most of you like free music. I have found some mp3's put out by bands that any of you can download for free...

First is that band "Splashdown" from Boston. I saw them open up for Lamb a few years back, and they blew Lamb away! (I am a big fan of Lamb too). The band got signed to Capitol records and then things started to go downhill from then on.. Basically, Capitol jerked them around and their music never got released. BUT, by going to http://splashdown.drawbridge.com/splashdown/sounds_right.html you can download some of the great tracks for yourself. If you like any of those tracks, you will like their album "Blueshift" which the band recommends you get on bootleg. You can download these too at: http://216.136.100.198/blueshift/192k/. Again, these are legit because the band approves of their download... The music unique. Kind of a modern Depeche Mode with female vocals...

Wow! I finished downloading all of Dusty Brown's mp3! This stuff is great. I wish he was local so I could I check out a show!

I also started downloading mp3 news stories from http://www.Wired.com ... not quite the same as having a tuner, but I still get that "listening to news" feeling. Now, if only NPR had mp3 versions availble for DL.....

Glad that you like him. I was really impressed to see him perform. And I listen to his music a lot in the car. I expect to hear things from him more and more.

Good idea about the radio listening. Might be a bit much work for my commute of about 20 minutes though.

I just downloaded the Blueshift album. I love the whole thing. I'd love to hear the Redshift album if you can get your hands on it.
I'd recommend the Seattle band Sky Cries Mary (now Hana i think) and a band called Kidneytheives to people who like this album.
