Is anyone using a Mk 1 with headphones on the stereo output RCA jacks getting a continuous "Mr. Squeaky Mouse" noise that is not removed by a Pause?

I assume you are referring to the RCA jacks on the back of the player, not the ones on the back of the sled?!

Are you going through any form of headphone amplifier? Those outputs were not intended to drive headphones, but I know a lot of people have had luck with smaller sets.

First, check your headphones by plugging them into another device. Check your empeg by plugging it into a line level amplifier or receiver, to see if you still get the noise. What kind of cabling are you using, and can you test the cabling by connecting it to a preamp out of another device?

Afraid not; that's the main reason I upgraded to a MK2

...Still (barely, pending 1.1 release) proud to have owned an Empeg since 00287
