I had a a problem where the fascia bolts had pulled out the internal plastic and as a result the fascia was coming away.
In the absence of any UK parts I decided to get creative. Here's the result. Still needs a bit of fine tuning

Brilliant. Little bit of time with a file and some sandpaper and it will be a work of art. Any thoughts as to how you're going to finish it? Or will it just be raw wood?

It's too bad that New Face isn't available any more.

Yes that face would be nice.

I was thinking of varnishing it but I think that will add too much extra thickness around the buttons and they'll start sticking. That was the trickiest bit to get right.

Maybe a nice light oil will do the trick. I must do it otherwise it'll probably warp.

A carbon wrap is another option but it would be a shame to hide the wood.

Perhaps a stain to a little bit richer color would look nice too (before the oil).

You may have to do a little investigation to see if the stain will cooperate with the oil.

Would it have been easier to fill the enlarged holes in the fascia with epoxy, then re-drill them to the appropriate size(s), that is 4mm for the through-holes and (I'm guessing here) 6mm for the counter-sinks?

Of course, that wouldn't have been as interesting or as fun as what you've done. Very nice work indeed!

Well done!

Does anyone know what kind of plastic the original fascia is? ABS perhaps?
