Have been using Empeg Mk2 with IP at home for a while, no problems. Hooked it up to an Ethernet hub at work, and initially IP is ok, but after a while the IP interface stops working ( I think I may have noticed player reboot ). Don't have serial cable here to see whats going on. Hub is 10/100 switchable, have displayserver 2.0 install, and dev 1.03. Any comments ?

Have you tested if you can ping it?
I can imagine that at work, a lot more people connect to the empeg at the same time; this can consume a lot of memory, causing the player to shutdown displayserver.
If you want to reserve more memory for displayserver, you can add the following line to /empeg/var/config.ini

[startup]
reservecache=12

Even not running Displayserver, when you try and PING, initially it works, but after a while there is no response to PING.

I know this is stupid (I did it) but check for IP address conflicts, especially if you network has some fixed IP addresses (usually printers - or empegs). Conversely, don't use a fixed address that's within a DHCP's scope for the same reason. I drove myself nuts with this, it'd work for a while then quit, not ping etc...

Also, when you switch to DHCP from the config screen of emplode, be sure to cycle the power to have the change take effect.

just say you weren't paying much attention...

Thanks for the suggestions, its my own subnet at work, and I did try a couple of fixed address' that were free ( ping'ed etc to check not in use too ). Odd that I could get a connection with Emplode and start to sync but then would loose contact ( after about 20mb transfered ).
Guess I need to remember to take my serial cable in and see whats going on.
