Mk.II v2.00-beta3

If my empeg (mk2) is playing a tune when I run "emptool"
and then do a "sync" from within emptool, then when the
player restarts (after the sync) the player continues
playing the tune and IGNORES all button presses
(whether local or on the IR remote). BUG.

Confirmed by at least one other user.

Are you building emptool from sources, or using our binary distribution? I'm at a bit of a loss here; emptool shouldn't be able to affect the player in that way. Did you sync over serial, Ethernet, or USB? Do you have serial-notify turned on? Does power-cycling your empeg bring it back to life?

This is with the binary distribution from empeg, both dynalink and static versions. Basically, after syncing the player from emptool, the player restarts and then locks up either immediately or soon thereafter. A power cycle cures it. Dunno if the windows tool has the same effect or not (I only use it after doing player upgrades, and then switch back to Linux).

This is using ethernet (DHCP). Dunno what "serial notify" means.

Hmmm, think I was getting the same effect with emplode the other night (using ethernet). Was changing things with emplode, and was getting quite a few lockups. Didn't investigate thoroughly at the time to check that it was only happening after an emplode sync though - will try and remember to have a look next time I am at work
